FINA, the International Swimming Federation, selected OMNIGON to develop its first-ever suite of mobile apps.
With these apps, FINA sought to create an engaging, fan-centric experience that would ignite interest in the sport, drive engagement and bring fans closer to the athletes than ever before.
To meet these objectives, OMNIGON designed and developed app features that include a comprehensive results section featuring both live and historic data back to the year 2000. Within the results section, users can search by events and explore detailed results including split times and records. Additionally, the app also features a robust event hub, with event details and schedules for all prevoius, current, and upcoming events.
There is also a comprehensive section dedicated to all FINA's 15,000 athlete. Each athelete profile includes biographical information, nationality, race by race results, images and a link to their social media feeds. Additionally, there is a dedicated media section featuring all latest news articles, video and photo highlights, and social streams.
The launch of the first phase of the iOS and Android apps coincided with the 13th Annual FINA World Swimming Championships in Canada in December 2016. Phase two of the FINA apps launched March 2017 featuring diving data and results. Phase three launched prior to the FINA World Championships in July 2017 and included all of FINA's six aquatic disciplines.
