RELEVENT, a multi-national media, sports and entertainment group, and the International Champions Cup (ICC) selected OMNIGON to design and develop their digital platforms in advance of the 2018 tournament. These experiences were built leveraging our Corebine platform.
The ICC is an annual, and now global, exhibition competition bringing top European football clubs to the United States and across the globe. This year’s tournament features 18 of the best clubs in the world playing 27 matches across the United States, Europe and Singapore, delivering on the premier sports property’s mission to transform European soccer’s presence around the world. Participating clubs in the 2018 tournament include 2018-2018 Premier League champion Chelsea FC, 2017-2018 UEFA Champions League champion Real Madrid, 2017-2018 Copa del Rey champion FC Barcelona, AS Roma, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, among others.
The tournament, now in its 6th year, was created to both grow the sport and introduce top clubs - and their players - to new, worldwide audiences. In addition to their flagship tournament, 2018 will mark the first year for the ICC’s Women’s and Youth tournaments; both are represented within the flagship experiences. The Women’s tournament features four clubs; the Youth tournament features 24 clubs from the United States and Europe, comprised of the best Under-14 players in the world.
Phase one of the launch featured team pages (including unique information like playing style), highlight video feeds, social integrations, newsletter sign ups and seamless ticket purchase integrations. Phase two, launched in advance of the tournament in mid-July, features comprehensive match details and statistics, a robust results and standings hub, and additional information on the fan fests and sponsor activations around each match.
