Connect

The German Football Association (DFB) turned to Omnigon to design and develop its all-new mobile and tablet apps in advance of the 2016-2017 Pokal season.

Create

The app, released in both English and German, includes a Match Hub with full live match statistics, detailed club and player pages, photo and video galleries, social media hub and a page dedicated to full fixture and results of all previous Pokal matches this year and those in previous years. All in-game player and team statistics are powered by Corebine, Omnigon’s proprietary real-time data network.

Unique to this app are a series of gamification features meant to engage fans around the world. Once fans register and interact with the app, whether by taking quizzes, sharing content socially, or voting on match outcomes or in the in-match ‘hash clash,’ they’ll earn a series of points. Earning points will automatically enter fans into various sweepstakes with prizes including tickets to the finals, jerseys, autographed memorabilia and other Pokal-related gifts.

The DFB Cup (Pokal) is a knockout football tournament featuring the top 64 teams in German football. It is widely considered the second most important club title in German football behind the Bundesliga championship.
