This commemorative "social microsite" celebrates the New York Rangers' 85 years of legendary moments and embeds fans in the history of their favorite team.
With a collage of historic photos of equipment, trophies and players, the interactive Facebook-based timeline allows users to scroll through and insert themselves into the historic moments they value most -- in any order and at their own pace. By leveraging Facebook APIs, this platform allows users to have the names of friends and family pulled into snapshots and news headlines incorporated within the collage. This creates a completely customized experience for each user, which can then be shared on Facebook. A special section is devoted to Twitter as well, aggregating tweets and avatar photos from any users posting with the #rangers85th hashtag.
Omnigon SVP of Business Development, David Nugent, said, "Because the Rangers are one of Omnigon's oldest client relationships, an Emmy nomination for work done on their behalf is particularly meaningful. We're really fortunate have the relationship we do with MSG Interactive and the Rangers, and to have this nomination come down during a truly special season for the team is amazing."
